GE Healthcare's fourth-quarter profit, sales climb 2 percent

What the company said:

GE Healthcare said it had "continued growth driven by strong productivity and execution." The company added that "as the healthcare team continues to prepare for separation, they closed out a strong year in 2018." GE announced last June that its healthcare division would become a standalone firm within the next 18 months, with sources later indicating that the parent company filed confidentially for an initial public offering ahead of a public filing expected this spring.  

Other results:

  • Orders: $5.8 billion, down 2 percent
  • Life Science revenue: up 8 percent
  • Full-year revenue: $19.8 billion, up 4 percent
  • Full-year profit: $3.7 billion, up 6 percent
