Johnson & Johnson CEO: No Plans to Leave U.S. - (FOX Business via NewsPoints Desk)

  • Johnson & Johnson CEO Alex Gorsky said Thursday weaker second-quarter medical device sales may be tied to the overall economy, FOX Business reported.
  • "For many years, you didn’t see a connection necessarily between broader economic themes and consumption of medical devices and utilisation in hospitals … (we) seem to see some elasticity between the overall economy and healthcare demand," he said.
  • Gorsky added that Johnson & Johnson plans to stay in the US.
  • "As we think about acquiring other companies, new technologies and really managing our business for the long-term and the future, tax is certainly an issue we take a look at, but it’s not the primary driver and we always first focus on strategy," he noted.
